China.com, June 10 (reporter Zhang Yanling) the reporter learned from the Ministry of water resources that recently, affected by the strongest rainfall in Guangxi and Guangdong, the Beijiang River and Xijiang River in Guangxi have both suffered the No.1 flood this year. The water conservancy department scientifically regulates water projects, plays a role in flood control and disaster reduction, and reduces the flood control pressure in the middle and lower reaches of Xijiang River to 5 years.  

Affected by both cold and warm air, since June 2, the strongest rainfall process has occurred in Guangxi and Guangdong since June 2. Among them, there have been heavy rain to torrential rain in northern Guangxi and northern central Guangdong. The accumulated average surface rainfall is 142mm in Guangdong and 136mm in Guangxi. The maximum point precipitation is 885mm in Longtan Town, Huizhou, Guangdong, and 662mm in Yongfu, Guilin, Guangxi. Affected by heavy rainfall, 84 rivers, including the main stream of Xijiang River in Guangxi and its tributaries Liujiang, Guijiang and Hejiang, the middle reaches of Beijiang River and its tributaries guantian River and Gongzhuang river of Dongjiang River in Guangdong Province, the maximum over alarm range is 6.37 meters. Among them, Luoqing River and the upper reaches of Hejiang River, the tributaries of Beijiang River in Guangdong Province, Shujiang River, Zhongzhou River and Zengjiang River in the Pearl River Delta, etc Water.

The water level of Wuzhou station on the main stream of Xijiang River in Guangxi rose to 18.54 meters at 0:00 on the 8th, exceeding the warning level by 0.04 meters, numbered "Xijiang flood No.1 in 2020". At 22:30 on the 8th at Shijiao station, the main stream of Beijiang River in Guangdong Province, the discharge rose to 12000 cubic meters per second, numbered "Beijiang flood No.1 in 2020". As of 20:00 on the 9th, the water level of Wuzhou station on the main stream of Xijiang River dropped slowly to 20.30 meters, exceeding the warning level by 1.80 meters; the water level at Shijiao station of Beijiang river rose to 9.32 meters, lower than the warning level.  

The Pearl River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of water resources and the water conservancy departments of Guangdong and Guangxi have done a good job in water conservancy project scheduling and flood forecasting and early warning. Through the regulation of Longtan, Yantan, Baise and other key reservoirs, the flood control pressure of the middle and lower reaches of Xijiang River is reduced to 1.65 billion cubic meters by regulating Longtan, Yantan, Baise and other key reservoirs; the 10-year return period flood in the middle and lower reaches of Hejiang river is reduced to 5-year return period by implementing the joint operation of Hejiang reservoir group.

On the basis of the working group dispatched by the Ministry of water resources in the early stage, two additional working groups were sent to Guangdong and Guangxi to assist and guide the local governments in handling dangerous situations of reservoirs and dikes.
