In order to improve the level of project results and better serve the production practice of Yellow River governance and protection, the National Science and Technology Bureau and the Defense Bureau of the Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources communicate stage results of the national key research and development project "Yellow River Snow Flood Monitoring and Disaster Prevention and Control Key Technologies "Research and Demonstration" with Yellow River Academy recently. They discuss and exchange scientific and technological achievements for the Yellow River anti-freezing work, meet development needs, and strengthen "research" and "application" collaborative innovation.

The project team Introduces the research progress and phase results of the project from many aspects,including the disaster mechanism of the Lingxun flood, the real-time monitoring and perception of the freezing situation, the early warning and forecasting of the freezing flood disaster and the dynamic risk assessment, the joint anti-freezing dispatching of the upstream reservoir group and the sub-freezing area, the efficient and accurate ice breaking and discharging, and the research and development of the Yellow River intelligent anti-freezing platform. The project has completed the research on the ice process of curved rivers and the interaction mechanism of ice-water-riverbed interaction, and has developed fixed-point non-contact dynamic data acquisition geological radar, ice-water-riverbed synchronous measurement radar, and low-altitude remote sensing emergency response during the ice flood period. Monitoring equipment and other emergency monitoring equipment, developed drone-borne ice-breaking bombs, under-ice blasting belts, and light icebreakers, and other rapid emergency protection technology and equipment in the ice-breaking conditions, and built an emergency field observation station. The research results have been successively carried out demonstration applications during the ice flood season in recent years.

Taking into account the current situation of river closure,they discuss and make suggestion about the following problems, Such as the joint operation of reservoirs,  forecasting and forecasting of flood conditions, and manual intervention in flood prevention and mitigation measures, flood prevention and river opening. The Defense Bureau proposed that the project should closely integrate the closure of the river, the ice dam, and the opening of the river. The results of the project should be verified by strengthening practical applications, and scientific research results should be used to help the Yellow River flood prevention and mitigation work.
