The water source of Longpan water lifting project of Jinsha River in Lijiang City is located on the mainstream of Jinsha River at the junction of Yulong County of Lijiang City and Shangri La County of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The water intake of the project is located on the right bank of the main stream of Jinsha River 1.5km downstream of the confluence of Sangushui Longdong River and Jinsha River. The water receiving area of the project is Lijiang dam area. The project task is to solve the water consumption of urban life, industry and ecological landscape in Lijiang dam area. It is a key project in Lijiang City.

The total investment of the project is 1.595 billion yuan. The total length of the water diversion pipeline is 49.6 km, and the annual water diversion volume is 70 million cubic meters. The water is taken from the No.39 entrance of the main canal of the south to north water diversion. Through the booster pump station and water pipeline, the high-quality water source of the south to North Water Diversion Project is transported to the No.3 water plant of Linzhou City, Yindu District and Long'an district. The annual water diversion volume is 40 million cubic meters to Linzhou city and Yindu District 20 million cubic meters of water will be transferred and 10 million cubic meters will be transferred to Long'an district. After the completion of the project, it will play an important role in ensuring the safety of drinking water and improving the quality of drinking water in the western region of Anyang City.
