This is Wudongde Hydropower Station, the seventh largest hydropower station in the world and the fourth largest hydropower station in China. The river water in the reservoir area is green and clear, with a reservoir capacity of 7.4 billion cubic meters, equivalent to the storage capacity of more than 500 West Lakes( Looking down from a high altitude, the dam stands towering among the mountains and canyons. It is like a bent eggshell stuck gently in the Jinsha River Valley.

In the construction industry, concrete cracking is a recognized technical problem in the world. The larger the volume of concrete, the more serious the cracking. There was a saying that the dam was not cracked. Wudongde dam has 2.7 million cubic meters of concrete, where any slight cracks may make it unable to withstand the storage of 10 million watt hydropower station. The key technology of building seamless dam is continuous temperature control. During the construction of the dam, low heat Portland cement was used to effectively reduce the temperature of the concrete. At the same time, the engineering team embedded cooling water pipes and thousands of monitoring instruments in the dam body, which monitored the temperature of the dam body in real time like a "thermometer", thus creating a "seamless dam" in the true sense.

When the super power station is completed, the surging river water will continuously deliver clean power to the power grid.

On June 16 this year, all units of Wudongde Hydropower Station were put into operation for power generation, which can produce 39 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy on average every year, reduce the consumption of standard coal by 12.2 million tons, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30.5 million tons, which is of great significance for promoting the energy revolution and ensuring national energy security( CCTV reporter Liang Lijuan Song Wan Wang Jialin Three Gorges media Lu Zhongcan)
